I just recently went to Lake Tahoe with one of my best friends and my sister as well! We had a blast and I would for sure recommend anyone to go if you get the chance! We rented the cutest little house in South Lake Tahoe and it was so perfect for the three of us!
It was located close to everything! It was a quick and easy drive to food and hiking as well as Heavenly Ski Resort! You can check it out on vrbo! It was very clean and comfortable for us! There is so many options on VRBO. I know you will find one just perfect for your vacation there.
Food recommendations
Base Camp Pizza
It was delicious! I love pizza so of course I loved it! The service was great and a very busy place and we got in very quickly! I was very cold at the time so I got me as spiked apple cider and it was delicious!
California Burger Co
After a long day of hiking and being out in the cold we were ready for something good and filling for dinner! I got the chicken wings they were delicious I’m all about some good wings! I loved the the sauce and was on the side so you could dip as you please! The wings were so crispy and had such a great flavor! My sister and my friend both got burgers and they both loved them!
Groceries
We went to Safeway grocery store which had everything you would need! They had a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and also had many wines and liquor to choose from! I really liked that they had all this at one store! We chose to cook some meals and we mostly cooked breakfast just because it was easier before we went about our day!
Skiing
So we went to Northstar ski resort since it was my first time skiing. We asked locals and they recommended going here for someone who has never skied before. It was also great for advanced skiers like my friend so it worked out perfectly for us! It was beautiful there and I would say my first experience skiing was really good! I loved it and I can’t wait to go back. We skied 2 days out of the 5 we were here. Such a great Lake Tahoe ski spot for beginners and advances skiers.
The food up at the lodge was rather on the expensive side! For just a normal chicken basket with a drink and candy bar would run you close to $30. Which I think is just crazy when it’s nothing more than fried chicken and fries! This is normal for a ski lodge though. The second day we decided to go back down to the village to see what was around there! We decided on Los Arcos Mexican Grill! It actually was very delicious and very reasonably priced! About $8-10. Of course on our way out we got Starbucks! Can’t go wrong with a hot chocolate ♥️
Hiking
So our first day we wanted to go hiking so we decided to drive towards the Emerald Bay Area simply because I heard it was beautiful and some great hiking! We were not disappointed! Great views and definitely a great workout walking through the snow! There is many great trails throughout this area! I highly recommend the AllTrails app! It’s great and will give you how long the trail is and help you navigate your way through! Y’all but these views I can’t get over!
So we ended up hiking about 4 miles or so through the Emerald Bay Area! There is so many options throughout this area to pull over or parking areas to stop and hike!
Best Lake Tahoe Picture Spot
We also went to a beautiful spot that I highly recommend going on a sunny afternoon! It’s close to Sand Harbour at the spot we went to! We went to the Sand Harbour park and turned around and parked on the side of the road and climbed Down! The climb down was pretty difficult but so well worth it! The views were to die for! I’m sure there is some beautiful views down close to the park area we just didn’t go around that area!
Boat Cruise
So the last night we did a boat cruise with the company Safari Rose. This is the best sunset boat cruise in Lake Tahoe. We had a lot of people recommend a boat cruise to us so we decided we had better do this while we were there! Well we were not disappointed! The views and sunset was spectacular! They have appetizers as well as wine and beers provided and a bar that you can buy any drink you would like! I will just let the pictures let you decide!
Lake Tahoe you were so beautiful and I highly recommend going and spending a week there! There is so much to do and see! Take advantage of the time you have there and enjoy it! I will definitely be back!
